Roam

We like to get out and about.  With little kids, that often looks like roaming, meandering, toddling, exploring – you name it… and, we like to do so in almost any weather.  What’s that Canadian saying, ‘there’s no bad weather only bad clothing‘?  Yup, that.  We believe quite strongly in this saying.  Whenever we are out walking the dog, biking around town, hiking, or xc skiing, my inner Girl Guide (‘always be prepared‘) means that I pretty much always have a layer or two of extra clothes for us all, even if it means lugging around a lot of stuff.  Lucky or not, I have to walk the dog almost every day, year round, which means lots of practice for finessing what works and what doesn’t.

In this section you will find ideas on how to get out, read about how we get out, what we are up to, gear reviews, and the odd trip review.

How we Roam

The following is a breakdown of the posts that I have written that deal with how we tackle taking kids walking & toddling, biking, hiking, and cross-country skiing.  All of these require a certain degree of special equipment and there’s a whole world of equipment out there to help us get out – it’s amazing.  Most importantly, you just need some decent clothes that will keep you warm when you need to be and, from there, you can get as complicated (or not) as you desire!

Our Fleet

Our fleet of bikes is constantly evolving.  Well, hopefully for the next while it is not as dynamic as it has been in the past year or so!  We fully embrace the n+1 philosophy around here, but I think we should be good with our current ‘n’ for awhile!

#coffeeoutsideforheryyc

Every second Thursday or so, I aim to host a mid-morning #coffeeoutside for those of us on a non-traditional work schedule.  I will pick a location and announce it on Twitter and post it as an event on Facebook.  Please follow either or both so that you can join us at this kid-friendly event!

Come roam around the site and see what we’ve been up to lately!
